I had the privilege of growing up in a good Christian home where my mother and father truly loved the Lord. We were always very involved in church, but it wasn’t until High School that I realized just living a “Christian” life wasn’t enough, God wanted all of me.
At Summer camp my senior year in High School I completely surrendered myself to God, and told Him I would do whatever He wanted me to for the rest of my life. It took me a while to figure out what that was. I loved sports, and my first thought was that God could use me as a teacher and coach in the public school system. I majored in Human Performance, got a teaching credential, and spent a few years teaching and coaching. At the same time, I was a volunteer in the youth ministry at the church I was attending. Before long it became obvious God was calling me to full-time ministry.
The next ten years were very eventful. God brought me a wonderful life partner in my wife Susie, and He gave us three children. We were involved in youth ministry for a number of years, and then I was an associate pastor for a while focusing mainly on the young families of the church. I also graduated from the Master’s Seminary in 1996.
In 1999 God called me to Grass Valley to be the pastor of Grace Bible Church of Cedar Ridge. It has been a great place to minister, be ministered to, and raise a family.
I believe that God has called me to lead, feed, and shepherd the GBC family. It is a privilege I take very seriously, but I also thoroughly enjoy doing it. I am not under the delusion that I can do this task adequately by myself, and I am so thankful for the leadership and staff God has brought together.
